Ingredients:

  • 3 cups shredded rotisserie chicken (skin removed)

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • ¼ cup chicken broth or water (to keep moist)

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (for tang)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for sweetness)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (for depth)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (optional, for richness)

Instructions:

  1. Shred the Chicken: Remove skin and shred the rotisserie chicken with forks or your hands or buy pre-shredded rotisserie chicken ready to eat.

  2. Simmer the Sauce: In a medium saucepan or skillet, combine BBQ sauce, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat over medium-low for 2–3 min. until warm.

  3. Add Chicken: Stir in the shredded chicken and butter (if using). Cook for 5–7 mins, stirring occasionally, until heated through and well-coated.

  4. Adjust & Serve: Taste and add more BBQ sauce, vinegar, or spices if needed. Serve warm!

Serving Ideas:

  • Sandwiches: Pile onto brioche buns with coleslaw.

  • Tacos/Nachos: Use as a filling with cheese, pickles, and ranch.

  • Loaded Fries: Top fries with BBQ chicken, cheese, and jalapeños.

  • Pizza: Spread on flatbread with red onions and mozzarella.

Quick Tip: For extra smokiness, add a dash of liquid smoke or chipotle powder.
