Easy Shrimp Tacos

These easy shrimp tacos can be made in under 30 minutes and are packed with juicy shrimp, zesty lime, and fresh toppings, Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a fun taco night.

Ingredients:

For the Shrimp:
  • 1 lb (450g) medium shrimp, peeled & deveined

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1 lime, juiced

For the Tacos:
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or lettuce

  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • 1/4 cup crumbled cotija or feta cheese (optional)

  • Lime wedges for serving

For the Creamy Sauce (Optional):
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tsp hot sauce (or to taste)

  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:

    In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Let marinate for 10 minutes.

  2. Cook the Shrimp:

    Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.

  3. Warm the Tortillas:

    Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for 20 seconds wrapped in a damp towel.

  4. Make the Sauce (Optional):

    Mix sour cream, lime juice, hot sauce, and salt in a small bowl.

  5. Assemble the Tacos:

    Fill each tortilla with shrimp, shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, and cheese. Drizzle with creamy sauce and serve with lime wedges.
