Easy Sloppy Joes

A simple, flavorful, and delicious recipe for Sloppy Joes that is perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce

  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Hamburger buns or rolls

Instructions:

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.

  2. Add the onion and green bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato soup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.

  4. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve on hamburger buns or rolls.

Tips:
  • For a spicier Sloppy Joe, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the mixture.

  • To make these sloppy joes ahead of time, cook the beef and vegetables and then store the mixture in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.

  • Serve these sloppy joes with your favorite sides, such as french fries, potato chips, or coleslaw.
